2013

Sponsel ran a season best in the 1500 (4:35.85) at Incarnate Word, 3000 steeplechase (10:31.63) at Texas State and 3000 meter run (10:21.32) at Hardin-Simmons. His time in the 3000 steeplechase at the SCAC Championships earned him All-SCAC honors. Sponsel was also named the SCAC Athlete-of-the-Week on March 13th.

Joseph is the son of Tom and Christie and has one sister, Leigha.  Joseph is majoring in psychology with a minor in exercise and sports science at Southwestern.
